Re: Richard - The windshield snaps back at the bottom to maintain a sense of organicity and spontaneity found in the rest of the vehicle. The inspiration for this project came from the Burnham Pavilion by UNStudio which, deconstructed to its most basic elements, is a solid, machined shape pierced by organic forms. Instead of translating shapes/forms directly off the pavilion, I chose to study the juxtaposing form relationship of spontaneous vs. solid. Our instructors also wanted us to design the vehicles in whole, not just the body with a normal A pillar / roof, so thats why I made the windshield the way. Hope that answers your question!
